Causes
Osteoarthritis is one of the most common causes of neck pain. Osteoarthritis is caused by degeneration or inflammation of the facet joints.
Neck muscle strains and/or ligament sprains can cause axial neck pains.

Referred pain from other regions of the body
Myelopathy pain (caused by compression of the spinal cord)
